We're returning to our roots going over some Hugo and Nebula short stories. Oaken Hearts won both the Hugo and Nebula, DIY was nominated for both. Both of them lean heavily on internet culture, but in very different ways.

For our second entry in our return to Mangum Reads, we're covering a book that is forefront of the zeitgeist. James by Percival Everett which is a companion/retelling of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the point of view of Jim. This leans heavily into the careful use of language (possibly even prompted by Mark Twain's forward), and a unique narrative in the antebellum south.
