Manifestation vs Prayer

There's a lot of interpretation about what manifestation is. Some Christians think manifestation means getting their desired outcomes in life, through God. The Bible says, "ask anything in my name and you will receive it,” so what’s the difference between asking God for something hoping it will happen and manifesting something?
