Privacy segment-  Awesome Extension for Chromium-based browsers and Firefox called “Watch on Odysee”. If you’re on YouTube, it looks to see if that YouTube has uploaded the same video to Odysee. This is much better for your privacy, and can help support the creator on a site that is much more respectful of its users than Google is.

Backups are critical

  • This isn’t just for your computer, but for your NAS or any data storage devices in your possession that have important data.
    • You don’t have to go with Amazon, although their affordability is extremely tempting. I just don’t feel good about trusting them with data like do from a smaller company, such as BackBlaze.

      • Is the 3-2-1 Backup Rule Necessary for Personal Use?

      • It doesn’t hurt, if you have that luxury.
        • It’s very likely that the cost or pain of losing all of your data is greater than the cost of a reliable backup solution, such as BackBlaze.
        • You can never get those memories back when they’re gone, but you can get the 2 or 3 dollars per month back as you work to pay your bills - this is a necessary expense and is still cheaper than Google Photos, Dropbox, etc.
