Listen Later

Filipino national treasure and arguably one of the greatest boxers to have ever graced the boxing ring, Manny Pacquiao, is all set to return to the boxing ring for a match against the current unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr. This would be his first match since his victory in 2019 against Keith Thurman when he became the oldest welterweight champion in boxing history. He later vacated the title.
His opponent is considered to be the 4th best pound for pound fighter in the division today and is also set to take home his biggest paycheck even if he loses this fight. He boasts of a 27 – 0 professional record and this seems to be the first step towards going head to head with Terrence Crawford.
Manny Pacquiao, or Pac Man as he is fondly called by fans all around the world, is a living legend in his home country of the Philippines. He has not only elevated the country’s global presence in the field of boxing but has also dabbled in multiple sports, entertainment and is also currently a Senator in the Philippines government. He is also a full colonel in the reserve army.
Manny has sung over 16 songs, released 2 music albums, featured in 7 video games, over 27 documentaries, hosted 6 TV shows and appeared in 8 movies. He is also a professional basketball player making him one of the most diversely talented people on the planet. He is also heavily into philanthropic work and has coordinated with international charities for relief work in the Philippines after major natural calamities.
The southpaw has stayed away from the boxing arena for over a year and also maintained a low profile after his loss in the much-acclaimed fight with Floyd Mayweather in 2015 before his victory over Garcia. He was in the news for his political stand against homosexuality and his pro capital punishment agenda.
Our sources within his entourage told us that Manny was not used to the easy life of a politician and desperately wanted to feel alive again. Although he still trained like usual, he was also being constantly reminded of his age and being ridiculed by the opposition. This fight against the current champion was an attempt to regain his lost glory and standing in the eyes of the world.
