Pastor Ed is teaching from 1 Corinthians chapter 12:14-20. Diversity is no accidental attribute of the body. It is of its very essence. No one member is to be equated with the body. It takes many members to make up one body. The whole discussion is placed on the highest level, for the members are not in the body haphazardly; God has arranged them, or better, ‘put’ them. Every one of them brings out the point that God’s care does not extend only to the more important and spectacular. His oversight and creativity extend to every member of the body. He made them all just as he wanted them to be (‘ just as he willed’).
