Lenten Series - Monday of Second Week

Today we read the story of the banishment from Paradise and the first offspring of the first parents.

Cain and Abel were the first two sons and they followed two different career paths. They each possessed the God-given human instinct to offer a sacrifice of their produce to God. But for some reason, God accepted Abel's and not Cain's. Rather than repent and offer a fitting sacrifice, acceptable to God, Cain became envious.
