Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” 16 For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. 17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.          Romans 8:14-17

If you are led by the Spirit, You Are God’s Child

 For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live.        Romans 8:13

He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you.     John 16:14

He will guide you into all the truth.        John 16:13

If the Spirit is revealing to you that your identity has changed, you are a child of God

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear.         Romans 8:15a

“… so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death – that is, the devil – and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”    Hebrews 2:14-15

There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.         1 John 4:18

You received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”       Romans 8:15b
