Today's reading comes to us from 2 Samuel Chapter 14. We will read about  David missing his son, Absalom, but not moving toward reonciliation  with him. We will see Joab intervening to hep David see that he needs to  take the first steps to reconcile with his son, much the same way that  God makes a way for US to return to HIM! Then we will see David coming  half way and bringing Absalom back into Jerusalem but still not speaking  to his son. Finally, we will see David reconciling with Absalom. In our  discussion we will talk about reconciliation with members of our own  families and how God made a way to reconcile with us, through His son,  Jesus. We will talk about God taking the first steps and how we, too,  may need to take those first steps to reconcile with those we are at  odds with, much the same way God takes the first steps, despite the fact  that we are still sinners.
