March 18, 2025 Daily Reading-Read the Bible in 1 Year
Today's reading covers 2 Samuel Chapters 15, 16, and Psalm 3. We will read about David's son, Absalom, building up his popularity with the people for an eventual take-over of the Kingdom. We will see King David leaving Jerusalem and accepting insults from people as he leaves, submitting to whatever God's will may be for him. In our discussion today we will talk about David submitting to God's will and not responding to the false accusations that were thrown at him, much like Jesus when he was placed on trial and faced false accusations. We will talk about David telling a member of his army that he doesn't think the same way as he does we will see the parallel this has for us as we have the mind of Christ and are meant to have our thinking transformed so that we do not to conform to the ways of this world. We will be encouraged that we are IN this world while not being OF this world.
