Centuries before our Lord’s ministry on earth, though – early in the history of Israel – the nation was instructed through Moses how to worship the Lord.  As part of these instructions, Aaron and his sons (the priests) were given a blessing they were to speak over the people…in doing so, God would “put his name on” the Israelites – He would claim them and hold them and bless them.
