One who is righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray. — Proverbs 12:26
Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. — Psalm 36:5
So when Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped him of his robe, the robe of many colors that he wore. And they took him and threw him into a pit. — Genesis 37:23–24
Have you ever felt left out, betrayed, or hurt by someone you thought you could trust? Maybe a friend turned on you, or you were talked about behind your back. In Genesis 37, Joseph experienced the sting of betrayal—his own brothers threw him into a pit because they were jealous.
That story connects with Proverbs 12:26, which reminds us how much influence the people around us can have. Friends can either lift you up or pull you down. But in the middle of all that mess, Psalm 36 shows us something powerful: God's love and faithfulness never give up on us, even when others do.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Friendship Matters: Are the people closest to you pointing you toward God or pulling you away from Him? Proverbs 12:26 challenges us to surround ourselves with people who guide us in righteousness.
2. God Sees the Hurt: Joseph's story shows that even when people treat us unfairly, God is still at work. Are you trusting that He has a plan, even in the hard moments?
3. Lean on God's Love: Psalm 36 reminds us that God's love is unfailing and limitless. Do you turn to Him when you're feeling betrayed or rejected?

BOTTOM LINE
Who you surround yourself with shapes who you become—but no matter how others treat you, God’s love is constant and His plan for you is good.

PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me even when others let me down. Help me to choose friends who push me closer to You and give me the wisdom to walk away from harmful influences. When I feel hurt or betrayed, remind me of Your faithfulness and help me trust Your plan like Joseph did. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
