This post is about a recent dark time in my life when I was told that my wellness and work life balance is incompatible with being a good doctor. I talk about how my spirituality helped me out of this dark time, and how many other residents are not so lucky. I talk about the importance of efficiency and reasonable work hours to resident wellness, and not surprisingly, to the quality of care patients receive.
