You have a new obligation
Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. Romans 8:12
When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death. Romans 6:20-21
You have a new enemy and a big decision
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. 3 Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up. Hebrews 12:1-3
So prepare your minds for action and exercise self-control. Put all your hope in the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world. 14 So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. You didn’t know any better then. 15 But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. 16 For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy. 1 Peter 1:13-16
Resolve to be Christ-like and then discipline yourself to do what you resolved to do.
Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness. 1 Timothy 4:7b
Kill the roots of your sin so there’s no more fruits of it
Call on God to set you free from sin and RUN
Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me. Psalm 50:15
Let God talk to you every day through His Word
Reflect on the gospel so that you love Jesus and hate sin more
Depend on the Holy Spirit moment by moment
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh. Galatians 5:16
