Much of the music in today’s service was edited by Clarence Dickinson, Organist &
Choirmaster at Brick Church from 1909-1960. Dr. Dickinson wrote:
"To the Moravian musicians in America, Church music was the most profound and
genuine expression of their inner lives. Like the early Christians...they had known great
tribulation, and like them their faith had become fixed on God and their Savior, Jesus
Christ. In their music the expression of that nearness to God, that faith and love, is simple,
sincere, and poignant.
