“Seeking the Lost”

Intro:  Have you ever been spiritually lost?

I.  Who belong to Jesus and what does it mean to be “lost”?

         A.  Who does Jesus claim?

                  1.  The called

                  2.  The chosen

                  3.  Those currently saved

         B.  Who are the lost?

                  1. By definition

                  2.  What does it mean to be “lost” anyway?

                  3.  How did they get lost?

II.  Who is looking for them?

         A.  Do the lost return on their own?

         B.  Jesus is looking for them, but how?

         C.  We are His ambassadors vs.  the Son that never strayed

                  1.  A worldly point of view

                  2.  A ministry of reconciliation

III.  The Joy of It!

         A.  The joy of the Father

         B.  The joy of the person (Isa. 12:1-2)

         C.  We should rejoice and proclaim God’s glory because we were once the                     lost
