Often we receive the message of Easter as the explosion of life from death and it is. Often we view it as a movement from darkness to light and it is. We see it as a transition from sadness to joy, fear to hope, questions to the answer, stillness to energy shot from a canon as the grave opens up we even sing "I RAN OUT OF THAT GRAVE" with Jesus!
At the same time that the confetti canons go off and the flash pots explode proclaiming life from death, there is another dynamic of the resurrection of Jesus that speaks to deep need of our souls.
It is movement from anxiety to peace, from restlessness to restfulness, from aimless forced energy to focused light work, from a life of panic-stricken concern and effort to a life of deep settling and relief.
The people of God lived in this anxious spirit because of the law of God. It was an intentional burden for the people. His holiness was a weight they would never be able to carry. Their burden was our guide to the need for it to be lifted. God provided this lifting through the Son of God slain before the foundation of the world. It was always God's plan to bring peace through His own pain. He has done this through Christ. The death burial and resurrection is the pathway to peace for all.
