“Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor, but evil comes to him who searches for it.” — Proverbs 11:27

“But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.” — Genesis 6:8

“Then God said, ‘I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood.’” — Genesis 9:11

Have you ever walked into a dark room with a flashlight? Wherever you point the light, that’s what you see—whether it’s something beautiful or something messy. Life is like that too. What we look for often shapes what we find. Proverbs 11:27 says that seeking good brings favor, while chasing after evil brings trouble.

That was true for Noah. In a world full of evil, Noah chose to live differently. He was the one person who sought good, and because of that, he found favor with God (Genesis 6:8). His story—surviving the flood, building the ark, and receiving God’s promise—shows us the power of living a life that searches for God’s best, even when the world seems to go the opposite direction.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. What Are You Looking For? Are you focused on the good in people and situations, or do you tend to expect the worst? Like Noah, we can choose to live with hope and integrity, even if it feels like we’re the only one.

2. Living Set Apart: Noah stood out in a world that was falling apart. He wasn’t perfect, but he was obedient. How can you stand strong for God when everyone else seems to ignore Him?

3. God Keeps His Promises: The rainbow is a reminder of God’s faithfulness. What promises has God made in His Word that you can hold onto today?

BOTTOM LINE

Choosing to seek good, like Noah did, opens the door to God’s favor and faithfulness—even when it’s not popular or easy.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, help me be like Noah—someone who chooses to seek good, even when the world around me isn’t. Give me the courage to live differently and trust that You see and honor that. Thank You for being faithful and keeping Your promises. Teach me to walk in obedience and shine Your light in the darkness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
