“Whoever diligently seeks good seeks favor, but evil comes to him who searches for it.” — Proverbs 11:27 (ESV)
“If you will seek God and plead with the Almighty for mercy, if you are pure and upright, surely then he will rouse himself for you and restore your rightful habitation.” — Job 8:5–6 (ESV)
“Does it seem good to you to oppress, to despise the work of your hands and favor the designs of the wicked?” — Job 10:3 (ESV)

Have you ever felt like you were doing everything right but life still hit you hard? Maybe you studied for hours but failed the test, or you treated someone kindly, yet they turned against you. Job knew that feeling. In Job 8–10, he lost everything—family, health, and wealth—yet he kept bringing his questions and pain to God. Even when Job didn’t understand, he refused to stop seeking God’s help. Proverbs 11:27 reminds us that seeking what is good brings God’s favor. That doesn’t mean life will always go perfectly, but it does mean God sees our hearts and promises His presence in the middle of the mess.
When life feels unfair, the best thing you can do is keep seeking God instead of giving up.

THINK ABOUT IT
1. Keep Seeking: What does it mean to “diligently seek good” when life feels like it’s falling apart? How can you keep your faith strong when things don’t make sense?
2. Be Honest with God: Job didn’t pretend to be okay—he poured out his real thoughts and feelings to God. Why do you think God wants us to be honest with Him about our struggles?
3. Look for God’s Presence: Even in his pain, Job believed God could restore him. How can you look for signs of God’s help and presence in your own hard times?

Heavenly Father, thank You for always hearing me, even when life doesn’t make sense. Help me to keep seeking You when I feel discouraged or confused. Teach me to trust Your goodness and look for Your presence in every situation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
