Have you ever put all your hope in something—a game, a grade, a relationship—only to watch it fall apart? It feels crushing when what we counted on lets us down. Proverbs 11:28 warns that trusting in riches—or anything temporary—will fail us. Job 11 calls us to prepare our hearts and reach toward God instead, because He’s the only One who doesn’t disappoint. And in Job 12, we’re reminded that God holds all wisdom and strength. When everything else shakes, He stays solid.

Life will have moments when things fall through. The question isn’t if that happens—it’s where your confidence is when it does.

1. What Are You Leaning On? What’s something you tend to rely on for security—money, popularity, grades, talent? How does Proverbs 11:28 challenge you to shift your trust toward God instead?

2. Heart Prep Matters: Job 11:13 says to prepare your heart before God. What does it look like to bring your heart—your fears, dreams, and struggles—to Him in prayer or worship?

3. The Only Wise One: Job 12:13 reminds us that God owns all wisdom and understanding. How can trusting His wisdom over your own change the way you face challenges or big decisions?

Real confidence isn’t in what you have but in the God who holds it all together.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for being my unshakable foundation when everything else feels uncertain. Help me prepare my heart before You and trust Your wisdom more than my own plans. Teach me to put my confidence in You alone so I can stand firm no matter what comes my way. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
