“Whoever troubles his own household will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.” —Proverbs 11:29

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!” —Psalm 27:14

“Now the Lord said to Abram, ‘Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you.’” —Genesis 12:1

Sometimes, it feels like life throws more questions than answers. Maybe you’re unsure of your next step—what to do after high school, how to deal with drama at home, or whether you’ll ever feel close to God again. In Genesis 12, Abram (later Abraham) was told to leave everything familiar and step into a future that hadn’t been fully revealed yet. That takes courage.

Psalm 27 reminds us that waiting on God doesn’t mean doing nothing—it means trusting Him when the path ahead is foggy. And Proverbs 11:29 gives us a glimpse into how our choices affect others—our families, friends, and futures. Even in uncertainty, our trust in God shapes not only where we go, but who we become.

THINK ABOUT IT

1. Trust the Unknown: Abram followed God without knowing exactly where he was going. Are you willing to trust God even when the details aren’t clear?

2. Choose Peace at Home: Proverbs reminds us that our actions can stir up or settle down our households. Are you bringing peace or pressure into your relationships?

3. Wait with Courage: Waiting isn’t weakness—it’s strength wrapped in trust. Psalm 27 encourages us to be brave while we wait. How can you show courage while trusting God's timing?

BOTTOM LINE

God often calls us into the unknown—not to confuse us, but to grow our trust in Him. Even when the future feels uncertain, His promises are sure.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, Sometimes I feel unsure of what’s next or afraid to take that first step. Help me trust You like Abram did, even when I don’t have all the answers. Teach me to be patient and courageous as I wait on You, and guide my choices so I can bring peace and love to those around me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
