Producer Matt and Elliotte kick off NHL Draft Day breaking the news that the Leafs are signing David Kampf to a 4-year contract extension with an AAV of $2.4M. Then, looking around the league, Elliotte looks at what the Habs are getting in Alex Newhook, why he made sense for Kent Hughes, and why it was time for Colorado to move on from their former 1st round pick. Then, they move on to the New Jersey Devils who are looking to improve upon their big 2022-2023 season and what their future between the pipes will look like after trading away Mackenzie Blackwood to the San Jose Sharks. To end off the segment, they discuss the Leafs looking to add some “beef” to the lineup, when we can expect clarity on O’Reilly’s future, and the potential for Miles Wood or Corey Perry to come to Toronto. Will we see a lot of pick movement at the NHL Draft?
