Margot McCuaig is a writer, an award-winning filmmaker, a mother and a grandmother. Her debut novel, The Birds That Never Flew, was shortlisted for the Dundee International Book Prize in 2012 and longlisted for the Polari First Book Prize 2014, while she has picked up Royal Television Society Scotland awards for her films about Jock Stein, Jim Baxter and Tommy Burns.

Margot divides her time between Glasgow, Scotland and Rathlin Island, Ireland.
