Mariana Atencio is an MSNBC correspondent whose Ted talk on finding what makes you special in the world has amassed over 9 million views on YouTube. Born in Venezuela, she came to the United States in 2008 to pursue a career in Journalism, where she dabbled in many different outlets and even in unemployment at times; but nonetheless, she eventually grabbed a job with one of the biggest TV networks in the world and landed the job of her dreams. Not only is she living out the job of her dreams, but she is also absolutely killing it in her role as a journalist, as she has been named one of the top young voices in American newsrooms, won the Peabody award for investigative journalism, and the Gracie award. Whether she is telling a story about crises in foreign countries while being in the heat of the action, or when she’s facilitating conversations with Pope Francis, she is ultimately fulfilled along every step of the way and is driven to inspire others to use their voice and take action on making significant change in the world.
She is also the author of the brand new book, "Perfectly You", which you can order here:
