Good day, surfers and beachgoers! Welcome to your latest surf forecast report straight from the National Weather Service Tiyan in Guam.
For the Mariana Islands, we have a moderate risk of rip currents expected along the north and east-facing reefs in the coming days. So, please keep that in mind as you hit the waves!
Tonight through Wednesday night, the surf heights will vary:
- North facing reefs: 3 to 5 feet
- East facing reefs: 5 to 8 feet
- South facing reefs: 1 to 2 feet
- West facing reefs: 1 to 3 feet
The primary swell is coming from the East at 4 to 6 feet with a 9-second period. We also have a secondary swell from the North at 2 to 3 feet with an 11-second period. Water temperature is estimated to be between 82 to 84 degrees, so get ready for that warm water!
Coastal winds will be blowing from the East at 10 to 20 miles per hour, providing some decent conditions for surfing.
Looking ahead, surf is expected to slightly decrease along all reefs, reducing the rip current risk on the north reefs later in the week. However, be prepared for a strengthening trade swell during the weekend, which may bring an increase in surf along the north and east reefs once again.
Tide information for the next 36 hours is also provided for various areas in the Mariana Islands, so make sure to plan your surf session accordingly.
Remember, always check the conditions before heading out, and stay safe in the water. If you encounter a rip current, swim parallel to the beach to escape its grip.
Stay tuned for more updates and enjoy your time in the waves, surfers!
