Listen Later

Hey there, surfers and beachgoers! Welcome to your ultimate surf forecast report coming straight from the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam.

So let's dive right in - for the Marianas Islands, we've got a few things to keep in mind. There's a moderate risk of rip currents along the north and east facing reefs, but don't worry, the risk is low along the south and west facing ones. And hey, watch out for lightning, there's a moderate risk lingering around into the weekend.

Now, looking at the surf conditions... Tonight through Friday night, expect surf heights of 3 to 5 feet on north-facing reefs, 5 to 7 feet on east-facing reefs, 1 to 3 feet on south-facing reefs, and 2 to 4 feet on west-facing reefs. The primary swell is coming in from the east at 3 to 5 feet with a period of 8 seconds. There's also a secondary swell from the northwest at around 2 feet with a 12-second period. And remember, the maximum afternoon heat index is around 104, so stay cool out there!

As for the outlook, the primary east swell and weak northwest swell will start to decrease this weekend, so expect the surf to subside by 1 to 2 feet along north and east facing reefs.

Don't forget to check the tide information for the next 36 hours at various spots around the islands. And remember, always be cautious around rip currents - have a flotation device with you and be safe out there.
