Listen Later

Hey there surfers and beachgoers! Welcome to your daily dose of surf forecast fun brought to you by the National Weather Service in Tiyan, Guam.

Let's dive into the waves! Currently, we've got a moderate rip current risk along west and north facing reefs, and it's now low along east and south. Keep an eye out! The risk along west reefs will likely stay moderate until Friday night, while north reefs will see a low risk by Friday. Oh, and don't forget about the moderate risk of lightning through Saturday.

For tonight until tomorrow morning, expect surf heights around 3 to 5 feet on north and west facing reefs, 2 to 4 feet on east and south facing reefs. The primary swell is coming from the west at 2 to 3 feet with a period of 9 seconds. Plus, the water temperature at the Tanapag buoy is a toasty 86 degrees.

Moving on to Friday and Friday night, surf heights will be 2 to 4 feet on north and east facing reefs, 1 to 3 feet on south facing reefs, and 3 to 5 feet on west facing reefs. The primary swell remains from the west at 2 to 3 feet, with a period of 8 seconds. Get ready for a maximum heat index around 102!

Looking ahead, the westerly swell is expected to weaken, reducing the rip current risk to low along west reefs by Saturday. But watch out for a longer-period north swell that may increase rip current risk on north reefs this weekend. And good news - the risk of lightning will drop to low by Sunday.

Tide information for the next 36 hours is also provided, so you can plan your beach day perfectly!

Remember, even with a low risk of rip currents, stay cautious near jetties and reef channels. And always have a flotation device with you in the water.
