Marianna found her testimony through "the covenants that we make with God". As the head of communications for the G20 interfaith forum, she often interacts with various other religions and faiths. It is because we have a prophet of God that has the sealing power of the priesthood that Marianna realized that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints contained the whole truth.

Marianna is a highly educated and accomplished woman. She received three educational degrees, has published various books, is a professor at BYU, served as a mission leader in the Sao Paolo Brazil mission, and is the mother of 12 children. Her insights and experiences show the variety of her life experience and her wisdom.
