At the outset, let it be understood that any combat/self-defense training for those who are given authority by the government to keep the peace in soceity/country, such as various kinds of police forces as well as the military is, according to Romans 13:4, scriptural. Those particular individuals are authorized to keep and obviously train for use of a weapon(s). This would apply to the weapon of the, "empty hand" as well. However, the authorization for governmental powers to, "bear the sword" is never for individual vigilantism
