Listen Later

Preacher: Jeremiah Fyffe

Scripture: Mark 15:1-15

  1. JESUS IS DELIVERED TO THE GENTILES
  2. BEFORE PILATE STANDS THE JUDGE
  3. BEFORE THE CROWDS STANDS THE KING
  4. Apostles’ Creed

    I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; he descended to the dead.

    Isaiah 53:3 (ESV)

    He was despised and rejected by men,
    a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
    and as one from whom men hide their faces
    he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

    Isaiah 53:3 (ESV)

    He was despised and rejected by men,
    a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
    and as one from whom men hide their faces
    he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

    Mark 10:33–34 (ESV)

    See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles. And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.

    Mark 10:45 (ESV)

    For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

    Mark 8:31 (ESV)

    And he began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes and be killed, and after three days rise again.

    Acts 10:42 (ESV)

    And [Jesus] commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead.

    Acts 17:30–31 (ESV)

    The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent, because he has fixed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and of this he has given assurance to all by raising him from the dead.

    Psalm 22:6–8 (ESV)

    But I am a worm and not a man,
    scorned by mankind and despised by the people.
    All who see me mock me;
    they make mouths at me; they wag their heads;
    “He trusts in the Lord; let him deliver him;
    let him rescue him, for he delights in him!”

    Ephesians 2:4–5 (ESV)

    But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—

    Ephesians 2:7 (ESV)

    so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
