* When Jesus “perceived” in His spirit…….
* Mark 5:30 - .....”perceiving in Himself that the power proceeding from Him had gone forth....”
* To “perceive” means to “become aware or conscious of; come to realize or understand.”
* He “became aware,” which meant He wasn’t aware earlier.
* This means we can also “become aware” of things the Holy Spirit wants us to become aware of.
* Jesus was fully man on earth - He didn’t grab ahold of His divine nature.
* He parked His “God-ness” so He could become just like us.
* He had to learn, memorize, work, struggle, resist temptation, etc.
* If He were operating in His divinity He would know everything about everyone at all times.
* So when we see Him operating on the earth He was using His fully human brain, the same type we have.
* What He did we can do - like Peter walking on the water (“why did you doubt?”).
* So when Jesus perceived things about people He was utilizing the Holy Spirit in a way that any human being can.
* He was so in tune with the Spirit that He was able to perceive what the Spirit wanted Him to know.
* So how did Jesus get this?
* Luke 4:1-14 shows us - He was “full” of the HS when He went in, but walked in the “power” of the HS when He came out.
* He did four things:
* 1) Spent time alone with God.
* 2) Prayed to the Father.
* 3) Fasted - denied Himself in the physical to gain something in the spiritual. (Matt 17:21 - not in NIV)
* 4) Resisted temptation - He was a living sacrifice. Pure.
