Always a top trainer, Mark Casse has emerged as one of the major forces in racing this year. He has continued to dominate Canadian racing, he took Tepin over to Royal Ascot to win the Grade I Queen Anne Stakes and he won the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Juvenile with Classic Empire, next year’s Derby favorite. All the while, he’s done so while having to deal with the loss of his father, Norman, who died earlier this year.
