Mark is a researcher who specializes in tuberculosis. While Mark currently researches infectious diseases, this wasn't always the path that he was headed down. I've had the privilege to know Mark since undergrad and he was always going down the path of medical school to be a doctor. While he didn't completely switch fields, Mark made the conscious decision to pursue a different interest and passion of his - research. While Mark is extremely passionate about the work that he does, he also has many other passions. Mark has always been active and into sports, so some of his other recent passions include bouldering and running. While talking about these passions, we discovered some valuable life lessons that can come from these activities. It's been an absolute privilege to call Mark a friend for all these years, and I'm excited to see where life takes him in the future.
