Isaiah 52:13-14; 53:1-12

Sometimes, it is easy to see Jesus' pain on the cross as just physical pain, something all of us go through and have to bear. In this regard, the two sinners next to him being crucified underwent the exact same torment. However, Lance takes this episode to point out the emotional and spiritual pain Jesus went through, having been torn and alienated from his Father who he loved in order to sacrifice his own will and body for the people who his Father loved.
