AI is giving marketers more power. But what happens to responsibility as more of the work becomes automated?
In this episode of MarketingEDGE, Abby White and Alexis Gajewski explore the new rules of trust in B2B marketing.
From growing expectations around AI disclosure to the surprisingly enduring value of the 5Ws — plus one AI boyfriend whose attempt to plan the perfect birthday goes spectacularly off the rails — this episode looks at what marketers need to consider as AI becomes more capable.
Because whether you're creating content or giving an AI agent permission to act on your behalf, one principle still applies:
You can automate the work. You can't automate away responsibility.

AI-generated content is becoming harder to distinguish from human-created work. At the same time, marketers are facing growing pressure to disclose exactly how that content was made.
In this edition of Unprompted: The AI Marketing Brief, we look at the expanding world of AI labeling and detection — and what it could mean for marketing teams using AI-generated text, images, video and other creative assets.
Meanwhile, the technology isn't slowing down. Multimodal generation is advancing, AI models are getting faster and cheaper, and open-source alternatives are becoming increasingly competitive.
For marketers, the message is becoming clearer: Using AI may be the easy part. Being able to explain how you used it could be the next challenge.

Your website's next visitor may be ready to buy — but it may not be human.
AI agents are beginning to do more than find and summarize information. They're learning to navigate websites, book reservations, initiate purchases and complete tasks on behalf of users.
In this edition of Unprompted: The AI Marketing Brief, we explore why marketers may need to move beyond optimizing for AI visibility and start thinking about AI usability.
Can an agent understand your product information? Navigate your booking flow? Complete your forms? And what happens to attribution when AI handles more of the journey?
Plus, we look at evolving AI content labeling requirements and why accuracy and trust remain essential as AI becomes a bigger part of how customers discover and interact with brands.
Being findable got you this far. Being usable by AI may be the next test.
AI is getting better at creating, automating and acting on our behalf. But are the guardrails keeping up?
In this edition of Unprompted: The AI Marketing Brief, we examine a series of developments putting AI trust under the microscope.
Platforms are getting tougher on inauthentic and mass-produced content. AI companies are embedding new provenance and watermarking technology into creative tools. Social platforms are stepping up efforts to identify bots and manipulated engagement. And a rogue AI agent incident raises much bigger questions about what happens when increasingly autonomous systems escape their intended boundaries.
For marketers, these aren't just technology stories. They're signals that AI capability, authenticity, security and trust are becoming increasingly difficult to separate.
Listen for what these developments could mean for your content, your AI tools and the promises your brand makes about AI.

More budget doesn't automatically mean better marketing.
In this episode of MarketingEDGE, Abby White and Alexis Gajewski unpack three of the month's top stories and what they reveal about where B2B marketers are investing their money, technology and attention.
First, they dig into EndeavorB2B's 2026 Marketing Benchmark Report. While 56% of marketers expect their budgets to increase, lead generation remains their biggest challenge—and there's still no single channel that clearly dominates in producing the highest-quality leads.
Then comes the AI bill—literally. Abby and Alexis discuss why the era of blind AI adoption may be ending as companies confront rising costs, unclear returns, governance challenges and questions around content ownership.
Finally, they tackle the "secret sauce" AI can't provide: a genuine point of view. As competent content becomes easier for anyone to generate, original expertise, experience and human judgment become more—not less—valuable.
The takeaway: More tools and more budget don't automatically create better marketing. The advantage comes from knowing what deserves investment, where human judgment matters and what should probably stop.
Marketing dashboards are full of data—but are they answering the questions executives actually ask?
In this episode of MarketingEDGE, we explore why financially fluent marketers are shifting the conversation from impressions and clicks to revenue, profitability, customer lifetime value, and business impact. Discover how leading organizations are aligning marketing and finance through better measurement and stronger accountability.
