With many Vermont colleges struggling and some closing, Marlboro College earlier this year came up with an innovative plan for self-preservation: merge with the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. Now merger talks have broken down and the deal has gone away. We talk with Marlboro Trustees' chair Richard Saudek about what happened and what the future holds.
