Meet Marley, a yellow furball of a puppy who quickly grows into a large, rowdy Labrador retriever. Marley is always getting into trouble, whether he is stealing underwear, crashing through doors, or drooling on guests, some may say he's the World's Worst Dog!
But those who know and love Marley accept him as a dog like no other. His heart is pure and his larger-than-life personality irresistible. He brings joy to his family, the Grogans, and teaches them what really matters in life.

the sad parts (which had me in tears) seemed to be ...
Most of this book had me laughing out loud! However, the sad parts (which had me in tears) seemed to be too long. I respect that the author did what he and his wife felt was right in regards to timing. I'm not sure that I could have watched my dog go through all of that. Maybe the time was distorted because I was reading the story and not the one living it. I know there were months and years stated in the book, but it seemed to go on for quite a while from my perspective as a reader. Anyway, I'm just thinking of how I felt about it as an adult, and how my son will feel about it as he reads this book. It will definitely bring up some good discussion.
My daughter enjoyed reading it
Well written book. My daughter enjoyed reading it.
'Marley' is a Warm-Puppy Book
'Marley' is a wonderfully told tale of the frustrations of parenting a lovable, but always-in-trouble pet. Grogan's writing style keeps you intimately involved with all of his and Marley's growing pains. From puppyhood to seniorhood, Marley's is a life worth sharing. And right down to its sad and prolonged end, Grogan keeps a tight leash on the reader's emotions.
