Nathan discusses marriage with Abe Meysenburg, pastor for Gospel Shepherding at Summit Crossing Community Church in Alabama. Abe shares about how we can so easily look to our spouses the way we really ought to be looking at Jesus. Here's a snapshot of what you'll hear:
"So much of what the world tells us about relationships is that the purpose of marriage is to find a partner who can help you be the best you that you can be. And if you can find someone who you can help become the best them, that's a bonus. But the Bible tells us something quite contrasting: marriage is not about you. Simple. Radical. Different. Our marriages are meant to tell a story about God. It's an illustration, a picture, a poem, a painting, a song... and it's not about us, it's about Him"
I hope this encourages you to think about marriage - and all relationships - in light of the gospel. Enjoy grace!!
