Marriage Union with Christ Gives Prayer Authority

Listen Later

The name you carry into prayer is not borrowed, it belongs to you because you are one with the one who bears it.

This teaching moves through Revelation 19 and Ephesians 5 to establish that the marriage union between Christ and the church is not metaphor to be admired but a legal and relational reality to be inhabited. When you pray in his name, you are not invoking a password. You are exercising the authority of a name that became yours through Oneness. The bride is not washing herself into worthiness. He washes her, presents her to himself, holy and blameless, because the work belongs to the groom. The teaching also confronts why so many sons resist the identity of bride, not because of theology, but because the love they have received from people has looked nothing like the love named in 1 Corinthians 13, which is not an effort but a person.

SCRIPTURE: Revelation 19:6-10, Ephesians 5:25-32, 1 Corinthians 13:1-8
