This week the Motivated Martial Artists Jackson White and Gavin Cook talk to Shabir Akhtar renowned throughout the country as one of the leading Instructors and practitioners of Martial Arts in the U.K.
Shab grew up in Yorkshire and got into martial arts at around 12 years old taking up Shukokai karate witch he did for a year. After a 4 year break from martial arts shab joined a Lau Gar Kung Fu club at 16 and continued this into his early 20s receiving his black sash and finding his love for martial arts. After he got his black sash one of shabs friends invited him to his tae kwon do club and shab fell in love with the style mainly loving the kicking style. He then decided to switch over to tae kwon do and continued to fight in numerous tournaments winning many titles. While doing all of this shab also fought in kickboxing tournaments and started training in boxing clubs to help his hand speed.
Shab continued his martial arts journey competing and training all throughout his life as well as owning a club and teaching youngsters many different martial arts.
After this shab retired from teaching martial arts he decided to start a business selling martial arts and combat sport equipment for many different martial arts styles as well as trading on the stock market.
Shab had a real love for martial arts and competing and he talks about many of his amazing journeys around the world competing with the TAGB team and competing in many championships. Tune in this week to hear inspirational stories from a martial arts legend.
