Today we’re digging into the Magnificat (Mary’s song of praise), and her stories with Jesus after his birth. Patriarchy has so often assumed that Jesus takes a dismissive or irritated tone with Mary in their interactions, but we believe these stories reveal the depth to which Mary knew and understood her son, and partnered with his ministry. Perhaps more than any other human in his life, Mary exemplified what it meant to be attentive to him, to treasure their interactions, and to support the heart of Jesus.
