The Levites were true ambassadors of love. They were in charge of watching over the refuge cities and educating the people there. Their role was to connect the Jewish people to the Tabernacle and Temple, as well as to each other and to G-d. When we enhance our spiritual connections with other fellow human beings, naturally we ensure no physical harm is being done.
