The title of this episode was influenced my Paul Laurence Dunbar’s poem “We Wear the Mask” and W.E.B Dubois’ “double consciousness” concept. Ironically, we did not know that wearing masks would take on several meanings in our lives: as a physical mask and an emotional/psychological mask.
