Hello and welcome back to the Miss Amanda Chen Show. We’re now in Season 2 of the 100 Masked Men series, where I anonymously interview different men from all walks of life about gender roles, expectations from society and how that affects our self worth.

This week we talk about self identity. In the story we tell ourselves about who we are, and where those ideas come from. 

Masked Man #45 is the New Kid. He's in his early twenties, living humbly, doesn't use social media and yet shares his story of social anxiety as a teenager, and how that deliberate self isolation resulted in depression and ultimately forced him to drop out of school.

And it makes me wonder how much more amplified those feelings of unworthiness, of not being enough can be if he was actively on social media. I hope you enjoy the show.
