Abraham Maslow and his triangle gets everywhere. In 1943 Maslow proposed his Hierarchy of Needs framework; it is used today in many ways and is a useful tool to use for considering your book content (so that you engage with the emotions of your ideal reader), title and target market.

Maslow’s theory helps us to understand our readers’ thinking and motivations, and in this way, we can further segment them and influence their buying choices. Maslow’s theory briefly is that the basic needs of a human must be met before the other needs become motivating factors.
