I want to dive into the science behind my morning routine and give the world more proof of the benefits of morning mastery. Why wake up before the sun? After all, serotonin isn’t produced by your brain to wake you up until your eyes perceive light. So, why then, should we wake up hours before the sunrise? And if you choose to do this, what should we do with our time?
I love Dr. Joe Dispenza’s quote. “ In a world full of information, ignorance is a choice.” I remind myself of this every time I encounter new information that I don’t fully understand. It often pops up in my head when I feel like I can’t find anyone to help me on my journey. It strengthens me. You see, the phone in your hand eliminates any excuse we can use to justify our lack of resourcefulness. A thorough search of your keywords on Google will teach you anything you want to learn. Most people are so caught up in the rush of life that we “don’t have time” to read… There is no excuse not to learn how to be successful at doing what you dream of doing.
Have you ever wanted to do something, go somewhere, or learn something new, and then after coming face to face with the negative aspects, you decide you ARE NOT WILLING to go through those things? I have just told you all of these things for the purpose of priming your brain for my morning routine.
It is important to understand that the feeling of “I fucking hate this, fuck me, fuck me, fuck me,” was ever-present in my mind when I began practicing this morning routine. In order to grow into an unstoppable force, you are going to have to choose to do things you don’t want to do.
3:30 am– Wake up, Start Hot shower-End 5min Cold shower, BCAA pre-workout
4am – Gym: Start with weight training. Alternate days from Chest day, Back day, Arms, Legs, Shoulders. Followed by 20min cardio with a goal of 400-600 calorie burn. End with 15 minute Abs workout. Abs are done every day.
5:30 – Read for one hour: mix of psalms, proverbs, and self-help material
6:30 – 10-minute Alkaline breathing with Wim Hof video, 20-min Tuning Into New Potentials meditation
This routine does not change. There might come a day where it is more difficult to make the choice to get up. But when the alarm goes off, I use Mel Robbins 5-second rule, and 5-4-3-2-1 I’m out of bed and in the shower.
Now, let’s talk about the reason behind this not being difficult for me.
Reason 1) I programmed the belief into my mind with sleep hypnosis
Reason 2) I am asleep before 10 pm and I sleep thoroughly until 3:30 am. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is primarily produced by rest during this time frame. So, if you are in a deep, relaxed sleep during this time frame, you can upregulate the production of the primary chemical responsible for deep, restorative sleep. In other words, you can sleep faster. I get my 8 hours of sleep in 6 and this adds 3 hours to my morning before I have to go to work.
Mastery of my mental states (willpower). Mastery of my emotional states (self-discipline), Mastery of my health and well-being. I defeat my ego, train my mind, body, and spirit, and plant wisdom in the soil of my consciousness before I start my day.
