Despite the challenges, I embark on a project to learn and master the Godowsky transcription of the Strauss Symphonic Metamorphosis, specifically the Gypsy Baron waltz theme. I take you behind the scenes into my early practice session, emphasizing the importance of shaping melodies and achieving legato fingering, especially with the use of the thumb in the left hand. I also preview a future episode where I'll discuss efficient techniques for handling large leaps in the music.
