Christopher Everett is a writer, film director, and film producer from Laurinburg, North Carolina. He has experience in film, graphic design, marketing, and advertising. Mr. Everett focuses on Documentary filmmaking that tells black stories. He is a communications manager at Full Frame Documentary film festival and a film curator that cofounded Black Doc which focuses on building and creating authentic documentary films for African American people and presents them through film screenings webinars and discussions. He is also the creative director of Speller Street films. He is well known for his film Wilmington on fire that recognized as the only coup de tat recorded in the United States History in which black people were massacred and removed from the town of Wilmington North Carolina. This was before Tulsa, before Rosewood, and even before Jim Crown. The documentary broke a record for most attendance in screening in its first screening. It’s been featured and viewed by audiences all over the world. The Film was even mentioned at the congressional hearing on reparations as a must-see film in order to better understand the need for reparations. Mr. Everett is now working on a sequel to Wilmington on fire that is set to be released later in 2021. #BlackExcellence
