Renee is a former three-time all-American soccer player at LaSalle University. She helped lead her team to its first-ever conference tournament championship and NCAA tournament appearance, graduated with two A-10 championships and three NCAA appearances. Renee is currently the second-highest points holder in women's soccer program history for goals and assists. She also played professionally with SkyBlue FC for a short time before hanging up her cleats to pursue her master's degree and coach women's soccer at Lehigh University. While at Lehigh, she worked in the Sports Media department covering games and creating media content for the athletics website. 

She is currently a fill-in anchor for the Philadelphia Union games where she hosts the pregame, halftime, and post game shows. She also works as an analyst and reporter with ESPN covering men's and women's college athletics as an analyst and sideline reporter. She also works for Fox Sports covering the WNBA team, the Washington Mystics and in the NBA covering the Washington Wizards. She hosts Beyond the Headlines with Renee Washington on Fox Sports Radio 96.9FM/1340AM​

She has been fortunate to wear many hats. She works in modeling, acting, and filmmaking with some big projects in progress. Renee has launched her own businesses. In early 2021, she launched an organization "Planted, Not Buried" focused on providing a supportive, inspiring network for professionals. PNB focuses on the concept that we have not been forgotten, rejected, or failed but have actually been planted as we prepare to step into our winning season. The organization holds regular virtual networking events, with more exciting opportunities for growth and collaboration coming in the future. In 2020 she launched an interior design company around her hobby of decorating called "SPACE by Design". #Blackexcellence
