Nashid Ali hails from Philadelphia. He has a Bachelor's of Sociology from HBCU Wilberforce University and a Masters in Sociology from Northwestern University. He is a community Organizer and part of the Storytelling group Keepers of The Culture that aims to maintain the Griot African traditions of Storytelling and preserving black culture and history. He has participated in many different community programs in the city aimed to assist the formerly incarcerated as well as victims of gun violence through his program called Drop Squad. You can listen to his stories every Sunday at 6pm through the radio show Groundings with Brother Shomari on WURD radio, one of the few black owned radio stations in Philadelphia.
