Kent Harries is a professor of structural engineering and mechanics at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Harries has over 30 years experience in structural design - especially the use of nonconventional materials in civil infrastructure. He is also deeply involved in codes and standards development, having chaired both national and international code committees. Dr. Harries has been elected a fellow of ASCE, ACI and IIFC and is a licensed professional engineer. As a Canadian, Harries continues to play ice hockey.
